you need principels youre trying to compensate for lack of knowledge by ending the game very quickly, learn the basic mates k+r vs k, k+p vs k, q+k vs k. Learn how to develop your pieces to the right squares, learn about prophylactic moves, learn to fight for the center and combine all these to develop middlegame plans. Practice king safety, and taking up space. And practice puzzles

You should learn most important principles of a chess game. That will give you a solid understanding of a chess game and you will know what to do in every position. Then, you should optimize your calculation so you don't miss tactics in your games. I can help you with all of this. Message me if you are interested.

understand your pain about sucking at this game( maybe me more than anyone here on this site ) -- love the fact that someone is going to help you -- great advice- to the teacher -- just don't push to hard to improve -- that will buzz kill any hope of learning this game -- baby steps at best -is what this game is ---to improve for a beginner just concepts are hard-- for someone who brain is maybe wired differently than yours - patience is key on both sides- someone who knows 1 different openings - is on a different plane than one who is just realizing how important pawn openings aren't--

also i love that piece about knights over bishops in the opening -- i will try to implement that in my next three game losses

thanks for letting me share your insights

Ditch the Scholars Mate trick and get a real opening.  I play Queen's Gambit as white and Sicilian as black.  Study up a bit on those openings and just play them all the time so you start to get a bit better at them.  Develop your pieces.  Watch a bunch of videos on you tube.  Figure out some tactics.  Dont blunder.  Play a bunch of practice games and try not to worry too much if you lose.  Good luck!

Put your pawns in the middle of the board and don't lose them. Also passed pawns must be pushed.

Play 1.c4. no one knows how to play against it.

Start with good books for beginner:
Soviet Chess Primer
Ultimate guide to chess
Tactics for kids

Or free chess courses for beginners (on udemy there are some)
Or free apps with puzzle (chess king)

Read this book first:

You should edit the title, and add "at chess" at the end of it. Because as it, it sounds like a sexual joke. I guess no one dared come here mock you about it, for fear of getting muted or banned, but believe me, you should change that.
