So I’m asking because I do have a bad habit of well trying to rush when it is my turn to move and and that is causing me well to lose a lot of the games I play and how could I stop that bad habit and well just think about my move instead of rushing it?

I’m asking because I feel it would really help me make better moves over all to slow down it’s just I don’t know how to stop that habit and well I’m asking for advice about it.

For computer chess try keeping your hands away from the keyboard. Maybe on your knees or fold your arms. Psychologically, if you are physically poised to make a move then you are more likely to stay mentally locked into an earlier plan, but the position has changed so there may be better ideas on the board, or now you can see your opponents move, which you were only visualising before, you may spot subtulties you missed.

LOL you could say "well" each time before you make a move.

Play a long time control.

At least 40 minutes.

Chessmaster 6000 is funny.

Set it a level. It can play at that level using only seconds. But it takes minutes to make a move, mimicking a real player, just for the heck of it. It does not use that time to make more calculations.

Those clever computers.

I could learn a bit from my own advice but, when you plan to make a move, always look for a better move. Look for checks, look for captures, look for attacks using more than one piece on the opponents. In those three, there is always at least 1 better move to make.
