how do you study chess?

I routinely review/analyze my games and puzzles training.
When I want down time or entertainment, I’ll go thru master games or stream.
When our schedule permits, I’ll play unrated games with training partners.

suggest a heavy emphasis on puzzles... tactical strength will always serve you well & is a crucial foundation for proper planning.
3 & 5 rush + puzzle battle for 'cardio'.
puzzles + survival rush for 'gains'. 🙂
You can look for a chess coach. There are good options with low prices there. I am one of those haha

There are many ways to get better at chess.
Here are some ways I recommend:
-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces” and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.” Both books are available on Amazon.com. Both books are endorsed by chess masters!
-If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.
-Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Always as, “If I move here, where is my opponent going to move?”. Do this for every single move!
-Play with a slow time control, such as G/30 so you have plenty of time to think before every move.
I also offer 500 two-choice puzzles on my website: https://www.chessbylauren.com/two-choice-puzzles.php
I hope that this helps.
Hello. Just recently I decided to learn how to play chess. I watch various training videos on YouTube, and on other sites I read about different playing techniques. I also installed several chess games for myself, found them on https://romsify.com/, by the way, there are many cool games, everyone will find something for themselves.

Big suprise that the chess coaches recommend a chess coach.
I got myself to 1500 by playing the game, analyzing my games, doing puzzles and watching youtube. No book or coach needed.

Books, board, and pieces.

The more pertinent question is
WHY DO YOU STUDY CHESS?
Only after answering that question can you consider----->How do you study chess?

Reviewing your own games is by far the most important aspect. Everything else is up to you and your goals.

Even so, a coach can help out with planning and mapping out objectives. You also harness the experience and save valuable time.
There is value to a coach but price is obviously a factor.
