It took me 89 matches to reach the mark of 1000+ in chess today .✌🏻🙂🇮🇳
How long did it take you to get an elo of 1000 in chess.
Personally, it took me five months. I think I could have done it quicker though. Do puzzles on lichess, just study one opening (the Italian), learn a few traps (Fried Liver), and blunder-check every move.
Probably about 4 months after learning to play. Everyone has their own pace though. It’s just like learning a language.
At 7 within my first two weeks of learning the game. That said 1,000 here is far stronger than 1,000 in general public imo. Start with longer time controls. 15 min and up, then when you improve you can decrease time. Some get to 2,000 in under a year I feel just like you do and no matter how good you think you got theres always someone better...
I am 894 elo (close to 900) on my way to 1000 elo and I was able to get here is 5 months from 450 elo for Before that I was in 200-300 elo range for over a year I was able to progress now because I genuinely studied chess and applied what I learnt , that is Move only when needed Follow chess opening principles Avoid gambits Play in higher time controls( 10+0 prefered) This should get us to 1000 elo
I stopped playing chess 2-3 years ago but came back to it recently. My rating before that was in the 700-900 range, but now I’m up at 1800
just a question for people who have went to chess tournaments, can my parents enter the playing hall ?
I learned chess at the age of 6.
I have had an over the board rating ov belew 1000 for 9 years!!!
And then when I was 15 I played the tourneament of my life, with only two other player being rated around 1000 every other ranging from 1300 to 2000. First round I beat a 1600, I finnish third last with 3,5 points out of 9, gaining almost 100 points in one tournement.
I only joined chess.com years later, so I never dropped below 1000, but in my overall chess experience I'd say it was actually 9 years.

Me who took 5 days on an alt account and 61 games
