I mentioned some positions where the opposition is irrelevant, some positions where it is critical (explaining that it was critical not because of being the opposition, but rather because having the opposition prevented the opposing King from advancing), and how it can make things easier to remember in K+P vs K even when it is not absolutely necessary (and K+P vs K with the Pawn on one of the central 6 files is the only position I've pushed for the opposition).  I've said that even 1900+ rated players (well FIDE equivalent of 1800+) were a little sloppy with the opposition and lost because they didn't take the opposition after their opponent's pawn was two squares from queening.

Apparently you are perturbed by somebody trying to give lower-rated players an easy-to-remember way of handling K+P vs K while correcting the unintentionally erroneous information from the OP.  If that is the case then I consider your opinion irrelevant.
