I AM SO BAD AT CHESS

You've played like 2 blitz games, learn the opening principles that every beginner should learn and some basic tactics and checkmate patterns. Learn how to defend against cheese strategies like scholars mate. Play longer time control games so you can calculate your moves better.

What have you been working on?
Do not worry too much, it’s just chess. If it’s any constellation, I’m bad at chess too.
They played and learned. Things often look confusing at first. Starting off just requires getting a bit of basic experience so things look more familiar. You get a sense of some initial patterns, etc. As a beginner, you'll be outmatched a lot at first and lose, which is normal. Just let yourself pick up things and let it sink it with time. You do get better as you recognize more, it's just an accumulated effort. It won't happen all at once.

ALbert Einstein used to say All is relative.
Compared with my dog I am a champion.
Compared with a Grand Master I am about zero.

Just play games and get experience, if you really want to improve watch some yt videos to learn the basics

Hi! My name is Lauren Goodkind and I’m a respected chess coach and chess YouTuber based in California:

I have tips and resources to help you improve your chess skills so you can win more games.
-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces” and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.” Both books are available on Amazon.com. Both books are endorsed by chess masters!
-If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.
-Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Always as, “If I move here, where is my opponent going to move?”
-Play with a slow time control, such as G/30 so you have plenty of time to think before every move.
I hope that this helps.
