GitHub is a source controlled site meaning I can upload files that other people can use without needing to go through some kind of scary file sharing site to download something they arent sure about. With GitHub you can see exactly what Ive posted and if it makes anyone feel better I can post the code too so you can see theres nothing malicious
I do not believe you need an account to download
I'm assuming your rating is the only thing you have to keep that massive ego inflated. maybe you should keep your mouth shut and try to enjoy things in life :)
criticism doesn't justify being a toxic piece of filth. i wrote a program to help myself in something I struggled with and put it here because I thought it might help other people and a sad lowlife like you couldn't help but say something stupid about my rating
wtf is wrong with these people in chess.com
Clearly some form of mental illness. A healthy man wouldn't behave like @asu01 is...
He is clearly a sociopathic peice of work who has nothing going on in his own life worth anything, so he decides to go to forums with the sole intention of abusing, harassing and starting confrontations with whomever is there. In the real world the disgusting squirms like him are isolated and avoided, and for good reason. He contributes nothing to the forum, or to the planet, just bragging about having a rating slightly than other people. And using the temporary ego-boost that comes from bragging to get him through his otherwise meaningless life.
P.S. I wouldn't be surprised if he is obese.
@DENVERHIGH - You can download the executable from GitHub without signing up for anything. GitHub is a legit site. The only negative regarding GitHub is that it's now owned by Microsoft, whom I don't respect. However, I haven't yet heard any news that would tell me that Microsoft has been able to screw up GitHub yet. So, imho, GitHub is still OK to use.
I just uploaded the executable to VirusTotal, and it analyzed clean, which is one "warm fuzzy" data point. I'd feel even better if the author would also post the source code on GitHub so that the program could be audited, if anyone so desires.
I have respect for anyone who programs. One of these days I'd like to start dabbling in some programming language. (Maybe python to start with?) I'm an old fart, so my interest in programming is just for fun - no career goals or anything.
@deadlockdev - Which programming language did you use for this program? (Just curious.)
Also, I'm using Linux now, so it's a pain for me to have to fire up Windows these days - I haven't actually tried out your program. And, as I don't think I have any problems with notation, your program has limited value for me. However, it might be useful for beginners.

He probably deserved your wrath, but I think the obese shot was a bit much. (I used to be one.) Being obese usually isn't any indication of lack of willpower; It's a hormonal problem (insulin) - It's just that they're eating the wrong food. Correct that problem, and the obesity usually goes away on its own.

I'm not even close to fat! I'm 174 lbs at 6'2
It's funny to assume just cuz I'm lame I'm a fatty. What kind of discriminating is that??
Maybe he assumed you look like your avatar? idk
Anyway, we're getting way off topic, lol.

Thanks for the feedback! I can definitely post the source code
I wrote this in C# using Visual Studio 2019

Ha! We're all losers here! All of us are dumb chess nerds. Let's face it, you probably dont have a life either. So u criticize people like me on forums, not realizing I'm trolling. My initial reply was just a small jab, I was gonna leave it at that, but this OP was taking it way to personally, so I had to continue.
Did your mother never teach you not to feed the trolls?
Jeez what a pathetic reply, you're even accepting the fact that you don't have a life. I expected more from such a notorious "troll".
btw. According to forensic linguist Carmel Shute, when someone claims they are 175lbs and 6'2 in an online forum, they are almost invariably 250lbs and 5'9
Hey there everyone!
Im a software developer and I play chess in my free time, slowly getting better
One thing I always struggled with is chess coordinates, specifically column notation rather than the row notation. What I mean by this is I can easily point out the 6th rank on a chess board, but when someone asks me to point out the e file on a board I have to think for a few seconds (doing the ABC's in my head lol). This causes me to struggle with the vision trainer on chess.com and elsewhere because it jumps the gun on teaching both halves of the skill at the same time rather than teaching both halves individually.
Because of this, I developed a very simple game that teaches the files on a chess board, built in with a simple algorithm to find where you're struggling and focusing its efforts on those areas of the board. Just 5 minutes in this tool was a monumental help to my chess vision with board coordinates.
I understand if I'm the only one who has this trouble with chess files
but just in case someone else would like to gain benefit from this, the exe can be found here https://github.com/DeadlockDev/CoordinateTrainer
