If you ever come across a nest, it's probably safe to walk past one, but just don't stand for more than 4 seconds in front of one or one of them might dart for you, and they are quite fast when they go into sting mode. Don't swat at it at that point, you'll only hit its stinger, get out of there, especially if they all dislodge from the nest, run for your life.

"what are good tactics for me" sounds a bit like you're looking for traps.  That approach won't take you very far.

You first gotta learn how to wack the small moles before wacking the large moles.

I'm going to create a list of things to do and not to do.

DO:

Learn all the basic responses to your opening move. Example: I use e4. I know response to the French, the Sicilian, e5, the Scandinavian, etc.

Learn solid counters for the following white openings: e4, d4, c4, Nf3. Specifically e4 and d4.

Learn a defense to e4 that isn't hyper mainstream This means don't go right into super-familiar territory. For example, instead of learning the 2. ...Nc6 lines for black, go for Petrov's defense: 2. ...Nf6.

Play solid moves. Don't try to be a hero and get a super-combo. Doing this will not help you improve.

Buy a book. My advice is "The Complete Book of Chess Strategy by Jeremy Silman."

Don't:

Play/learn unsound openings. I know someone who mastered the grob (g4). Guess how helpful that was.

Play blitz or bullet. It's not improvement

Rush into moves/ make a move because you're "tired of calculating."

Go onto youtube and learn wierd traps that put you into a bad position if your opponent is smart. An example is the ruy lopez mortimer trap. The mortimer variation is subpar, but there is a very tempting trap within it.

Get obsessed with studying openings. I often play beginner players who will tell me that they know e4 lines, d4 lines, they've learned the nizmo-indian and the kings indian, and yet once we get past move 10 they can't play well.
