For me quite a lot. I have played a lot over many years but I am poor/lazy in my analysis. Many times I make a move because it 'looks logical' or 'feels right'. This serves me quite well but vs stronger players I often overlook key moves. In fact, I am also overlooking stuff vs weaker players but I get away with it because they also don't see them.

Seeing your stats; it looks like it's serving you pretty well. I'm just begining to use my instinct on piece position; so I'm wondering if its something which develops the better a player becomes.

Probably the biggest measure of how much impulsivity plays in your games can be seen in bullet chess.

my instinct when I use it leads me to terrible blunders in blitz, but when I fight against it to try and find the best move I play so much better, hence why my rapid rating is 400 points higher than my blitz rating

My instinct is my play, especially after I'm zoning out from playing over 200 bullet games in one day ;-;

Define 'instinct' in this context?
Knowing or thinking you know where to move to gain the best advantage; and doing so without analysing all the options.
Beyond the opening moves, to what extent does instinct dictate your play?
