it seems like app is forcing me to get premium

Hmm. The app provides some free lessons every week and free puzzles too. There are lots of things provided to free members.
Every game you play is also a free lesson but you have played only 11 games since you joined more than a year ago.

If you can afford it, if you are new or not very good like myself here, l think for at least a year, it's probably worth it. I haven't regretted subbing for a year and probably will continue it next year maybe even get my family to play and get better value that way.

It's about 30 cents a day, less than half the cost of a US postage stamp.

If you don't think it's worth it, that's your business. I have the Diamond Family Plan... cost for each of us is around 3 dollars a month.

its kind of aggressive
though the Mod was spot on in the sense of every game is a lesson
but also, the valuable fact that you get X number of free lessons per week, how many? I dunno I don't do the lessons here but some people tend to think the more lessons the better, but in reality, doing 1 or 2 lessons a week should be sufficient for most to get some benefit. Its far better to absorb content rather than binge as much as possible only to forget half of it
I do wish I could turn off the app/site asking me if I want (to go back to) premium

And you're probably using an ad blocker, the bottom line being you don't think chess.com deserves compensation and you resent them asking for it.

Me? Personally I couldnt care less about the ad's I just ignore them. They can make ad revenue thats fine, infact thats amazing cause it keeps it free for everyone, the ad's arent intrusive. A side ad on the forums and an ad that pops up after the game... cool.
The pop-ups and private messages encouraging me to go back to paid is a minor irritation.
