Just had to share this ...

Hi Everyone,

This is my first ever forum post, so please be kind.  I just needed to share something that just happened and made me smile.

I am very much a beginner and have been playing rapid actively for the last few months trying to improve and gradually increase my rating.  I began today on 985, and after winning a decent game to move to 993, I tentatively clicked the play button to try to reach that elusive 1000 that I have been working towards.

The game displayed +7 for a win, so this could be it!!! (Gulp!)

I opened with d4, my opponent played e6 ... and resigned!

Not sure I feel as if I've quite earned my 1000 rating just yet, but I will enjoy it anyway - just thought the circumstances were so odd and quite funny.

So thank you to my opponent - I guess the next stage in my development is to try to stay above 1000 and aim upwards.
