Just wanted to share because I’ve been getting so much helpful advice from you guys. After implementing an actual strategy (albeit the meme Scholars Mate), I felt I was actually able to play a solid game of chess and get a checkmate (although time ran out before I could get it, I was just two moves away from inevitable check, I think?)

If you guys want to check it out and let me know what you think that would be awesome! Here’s the link, hope this is how you share games

Yes, I probably would’ve been destroyed by an actual good player (no offense to my opponent, you played well!!) but it’s very motivating for me because I was able to make “educated guesses” as another helpful member told me to do so, and set up multiple checks and limit hanging pieces (although I did lose my queen like a total doofus lol)

That was horrible... But it's a good beginning, I congratulate you and wish you luck on the road ahead.

you will be overjoyed when play a real game. you have to develop your minor pieces. if you bring your queen out before then all it does is get chased all over the board wasting your time while your opponent develops their pieces until you have no chance

Wasn't one of the suggestions to stop playing blitz? Not enough time to see what is going on. It is a large cause of errors. You both gave away your queens that game for free, for starters.

It's a great feeling isn't it?  I remember first time I had that sensation and still get it from time to time as a beginner working to improve - 'oh, this is why pawn structure matters in endgame' epiphany etc.  It's one thing to read about it, another to 'see' it during one of your games.  Good luck on your chess journey ChessBaus69

Yea stop playing blitz and bullet, you won't learn from it, you'll just be rushing, like here where you both just gave up your queens. Good that you spotted the fork on the rooks though. Play longer games instead, it'll help you.
