Hello! We have an excellent coach now but she is available only in mornings. So we are looking for an additional second coach for evenings (715pm-900pm EST in USA).

We will be looking for longterm lessons and approximately 150 hours of tutoring. (2-3 hours per week for a year).

Coach will be working with child on strategy, tactics etc.

Ideally, coach is:

Lighthearted, funny
Not too serious
Good English
Very good with children
Not too interested in ratings/competition (we focus on learning and enjoyment instead)
Emphasizes effort not “smartness” of chess moves

Coach doesn’t need to be Master etc. Just a very good teacher.

Compensation negotiable and to be paid weekly before each classes. Prefer PayPal or some easy way to pay.

Thanks!

This is wonderful @Kman1818

This sounds like a great offer, but I don't think I'd have the time in my schedule for this. I would instead recommend checking out the chess.com coaches:

https://www.chess.com/coaches

All of these are approved by chess.com, so there's an additional qualification there; all of these chess players would be a good coach; then it simply becomes a matter of deciding which coach is a best fit for the student. Best of luck finding a good chess coach

Hello 🙂

I really liked the philosophy behind your post. I think many children develop much better when chess is connected to curiosity, enjoyment and effort rather than pressure and ratings.

I am an International Master from Hungary and have worked with both children and adults for many years. What you described about emphasizing learning and enjoyment resonated with me a lot.

Your time requirements would also work well for me.

Feel free to send me a friend request if you would like to talk further and see whether I might be a good fit for your child. 🙂

Best wishes,
Attila
