I just had this game as black, essentially an easy win- but as a beginner how bad should I feel about missing a obvious move.
I knew I was up here, so I wanted to just play cautiously, and just complete development; I played ...d6. ...d5 or the fork ...Nc2+ are both obviously far better moves
This was a short time control game, can I ask, were my instincts right, just to play solidly, or should I be beating myself up about not spotting tactics?
Does anyone have a mental checklist that you go through, even with a won game? (I know of course, sloppy play in a won position can give the opponent the chance at a stalemate.)
