Im not great but some basic advice: try to control the center, activate your pieces, castle and connect your rooks. After the game analyze your game using the tools here. One if the first things I noticed about my game is I wasn't taking free pieces and I was leaving pieces unprotected.
need help improving, new to the game

Tip2) try to develop you minor pieces ( bishop, knight and rook) instead of moving a bunch of pawns at the start of the game. A good opening for new players is the Italian, Vienna for white and King Indianian defense, queens gambit declined for black.
Tip3) try to get your king out of the center of the board. The best way for this is to castle. If you do not know this move I recommend going into the lessons on chess.com and watching it on casting.
Tip4) before you move a piece see if you can perform a check, capture, or attack on ur opponent. A check is well a check on the king that can lead to a better position. A capture is a piece on the board you can take that will lead to you being up in material. Lastly attack, then you add pressure to a piece, make it struggle to move.
Tip5) watch Gothamchess if you have the time on YouTube. He is a big help, has a lot of helpful tips for beginners.

Hi everyone!
My name is Lauren Goodkind and I’m a chess coach based and chess book author based in California.
I have tips to help you both improve your chess skills so you can win more games. Yes, develop all knights and bishops out in the center.
-I recommend playing with a slow time control, such as game in 30 minutes. You need time to think. Beginners tend to make a lot of silly moves with very little time. This makes sense since there’s a lot of pieces on the board.
- Before each move, I highly encourage you ask questions before every move such as, “If I move here, is it safe?”, “Can I safely capture a piece?”, and more. Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. If you are past this stage, then find a forcing winning line.
-I also offer a free beginner’s free eBook on my website, www.ChessByLauren.com in case you are interested. The book is about asking questions before each move.
-Learn basic tactics such as the fork, discovered attack, pin, and more. I offer interactive puzzles on my website: https://www.chessbylauren.com/two-choice-puzzles.php
-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces” and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.” Both books are available on Amazon.com. Both books are endorsed by chess masters!
-If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.
I hope that this helps.

+1

- don't study openings cuz they are not compatible with your playstyle
- don't read books
- develop your own opening and original playstyle
- get diamond membership at least 1 month, more if you can afford
chess.com has marvelous resources to learn tactics, tricks, techniques...
- review the after-game report
caveat: sometimes i find stockfish consider good moves as mistakes cuz engines are not aware of your strategy
- youtube: watch Agadmator and Gothamchess
You don't have a diamond and you have been playing for 13 days. Bruh. None of the things you said make sense

im only 14 so i cant just put in a credit card lol
Just use Lichess. It's free and you can make studies from books you read. Check this site out first before you ask for books.
