On blocking players and making the most of your chess.com experience
At that elo... how often do you really see the same person more than twice? Blocking them for simply playing something you can't deal with is so silly.
I've just blocked a guy who mated me by doing the usual Q+B battery against h7. I'm tired of all those who try that. It's as boring as those who go for Scholar's mate. All of that is so disgusting that it makes me wonder why i even bother playing on this site. Other sites have less annoying players...
lol WHAT? YOU BLOCKED THEM FOR CHECKMATING YOU? What are you doing on a chess website then?
The guy is an actual clown lmao. Seriously mental.

Yes, it's really funny. When somebody checkmates me in a such simple way.... I would be rather angry with myself... This is not guilt of my opponent that I play so bad.
The standard f7 and h7 mating attacks are a basic element of opening theory (especially the 1.e4 e5 openings) so it's likely that many times your opponents are not actually trying to mate you but are just forcing you to show them how you plan to defend your king. That you fail to do so is on you and blocking them because of your own failures IS poor sportsmanship. Blocking people that you don't wish to play again is your prerogative, but starting forums to boast about it encourage others to emulate you seems questionable.
Yes. I wrote that too before.
If many people start to emulate this behavior .. then the site stops to function in the normal way.
This guy's logic is quite something. He would hang a piece then block the guy for taking the piece and create a topic "I don't like people who play cheaply" or something. It's just insane.
So it would be more proper and good for him to ask for forgiveness from all innocent players... he blocked last year. ))
He's responsible for me dropping a bunch of points because I started playing kings gambit for white and launching manic attacks kingside every game. Which is fun when it works but wow I got annihilated in some of those because sacrificing a bishop and rook looks really bad when it immediately collapses.
When did people stop accepting the kings gambit anyway? I mean, not even counter-gambiting. I'm sitting there trying to launch unsound attacks and for my trouble all I'm getting is a great center that I don't want.

I only play people who promise to sac their queen by move 3. All others get reported!

Good lord. There goes my next game. I wonder if I start a smurf account and sac the queen on move three every game (the crackpipe cloud?) if I can keep a rating above like 150.
It would be an interesting prop bet.

I'd be willing to play a couple unrated games
You could sac on g7 if you'e like... If I'm feeling generous, you could even play e4 instead of e3!

He thinks there's something as bully chess... like how the hell would you even define that. You play exploitable and bad and get a terrible position now the other guy is a bully and will get blocked. The hell is that?
He thinks that with a low/average rating and with there being millions of players that him blocking someone is going to make any sort of difference.

I think the best line depends on whether they know you have to sac the queen. If they don't e3/Qf3 might be the line because it offers the best chances for the optimal sacrifice on f7 because e3 invites d4 more than e4. Then quick castle kingside, try to keep pieces on the board, and wait for blunders.
At my strength trying this against anyone rated over 400 who knows I have to sac would be totally pointless. I need opponents that don't know to ruthlessly simplify for this to be remotely interesting.

Thanks for the kind words... I'm always happy to make people ltao... ![]()
Yes, Wornaki is the guy who said the infamous quote "I would have checkmated the guy, but I wasn't up for thinking".
Thinking isn't Wornaki's strong suit
i was expecting you here... I was expecting that statement too. It's great that I have to wait no more.

Maybe the "normal way" this site "functions" is part of one reason why I block players playing a certain style. Once again, there are other reasons to block people on this site, such as, for instance, disparaging comments...
So it would be more proper and good for him to ask for forgiveness from all innocent players... he blocked last year. ))
Players aren't innocent of anything. The decide to play a certain way and I decide to block them for playing a certain way, because I don't care for facing that style of play in the future. They can go and play that style against thousands of other players, just not me.
I guess whatever enhances your exprience. Some of y'all really need to man up though!
You expect to block 1.5k people? It's literally just a game. Lol
