You played really well here so well done but it unravelled after opponent put N on g5. You should of sensed the threat he posed with Q and N combo. The N move at the end moving forward was a blunder as that was your best defender. A very useful lesson in the art of defence. I think defence is my weakness too so before I play a move I always look at potential threats by opponent first especially if gathering near K position.

Try to choose simple opening, which you will play most of time, to have less complications. Maybe Italian game? Thanks that you will have more time for next moves. And learn basic mates. Look at my stats

Learning openings is the last thing a 300 Rated player should do. I once saw an estimate that an engine which makes a random legal move every move has a rating of 261! If his rating is stuck at 300 then there is something seriously wrong with his gameplay and openings aren't it.

i started irl as a 600, which is like 800 on here one year ago. imo, openings actually have next to nothing to do with chess at that level, and as long as you follow principles, they dont rlly matter until 2000+. i played this games and worlds, with this trash nf6 nf6 g6 b5?! line (and won), and played this other game where i pushed a5-a4-a3 with the black side against the giocco piano (i drew). probably just focus on blunder checking and one move tactics can easily get you to 1000
