Practice against bots.

I like to practice against bots when trying to learn new openings and the such, and was thinking, what if the bots anotated what kind of opening it tends to use and stick to, so that when im learning an opening and how to counter it, i could then use that bot because i can mess up a million times without hurting my rank while learning. because obviously i cant use outside help during a chess match with a player, this is assuming it is okay to do that against the bots. For examlpe. https://www.chess.com/blog/ChocolateIsCool2022/how-to-fight-the-london-system Ive been reading this blog about the accelerated london system, and how to counter it, im learning, but it would be helpfull to use it against a bot that will reliably move in a way that makes it work, rather then immediately countering me with a much better play that i dont understand. But i thought id ask first to see if thats allowed to against bots, and what everyone thinks about this idea, or if anyone already knew which bot uses this technique.
I also know the bots can be programmed in such a way, as nelson tends to use early queen, but i dont know enough about chess to say what the other bots use, nor have i really played against all of them but do plan to. Are the bots based on people actually programmed to play like that person? If so then a bit of research and i can figure out who uses accelerated london.

How about we play against coach, where he can annotate what he thinks about every move live, like a live anylisis thing. Could give coach an adaptive playstyle where he does not neccesairly steamroll the player, but dont just let you win of course. I guess the only way to ultimately beat coach is to listen to him lol.

I just realized that is pretty much exactly what the chess lessons do as well as playing against the bots with hint mode on.

Does anyone know why my DGT board does not work as an option with practice against bots? In Live Chess it is an option under settings, but not with this practice. Bummer.

There is a software package that has that feature in it called Lucas Chess

From their website:

"The game can be set, limiting the depth of analysis of the motor or the time used to think, or by modifying the way in which it decides. You can also choose the opening, or start in a certain position, or that the engine uses a book of openings or more or less aid."

hope that helps
