Practice Partner

I'm looking for a practice partner who can go over the game, and alter my style of play. I only play against the computer here. I'm only a beginner but chose to start with 1800 rated account anyway for it's my goal even though I'm far from that playing strength yet. I'm not sure where to post this topic. Anyone is welcome. Thanks.

Sure, I could play some unrated chess games another day. When I created my chess.com account, I started at 1500; that wasn't close to my real level either. I quickly dropped and settled around 1100 but I was probably closer to 1000 at the time. Progress is slow but shows itself when we put the time in to learn the game well happy.png

Thanks. I thought I was the only to start with higher rating. It's my goal to be an A class player with 1800 playing strength. I know my rating is just a number but still I still feel motivated seeing the number. I'm trying my best to read chess books online like Logical Chess: Move by Move. But the annotations are sometimes confusing even when set up on a real board. Like moving Nbf3 instead of Nef3 or Rae8 instead of Rfe8. I also study tactics the problem is my play style is not tactical but simplification. I'll try to win a pawn safely then exchange off all pieces so by endgame I'll have better odds at winning. That is what I think need to change.
