Puzzle battle, good or bad ?

Hi

i love puzzle battle but is it bad for my games ? I am trying to stay away from blitz chess as it  is generally acknowledged as bad for improvement. Does the same apply for tactical puzzles played at similar speeds  ?

appreciate your feedback.

blitz is not bad for improvement, it is just slightly worse than rapid.

Puzzle battle improves your blitz more than longer time controls but it will not be bad for your game in any case (if you can solve tactics quickly, you will obviously solve them with any time control). If you want to improve your calculation skills without the time pressure, then try the survival mode of puzzle rush.

I like you had a long break from Chess almost 40 years LOL but am enjoying playing again. I love puzzle battles and puzzle rush. I found chesscup an excellent puzzle site where you can play 3/5 minute games or the unlimited. The short time span get you use to working under time pressure and good for pattern recognition where the unlimited time gives you better thought process and calculation especially when the puzzles get harder.

It is extremely good for your games as it teaches you to think and solve puzzles quickly and as accurately as possible
