QOL: Explain why puzzle moves are incorrect

Sort:
Error_4A54
When a puzzle move is incorrect, it would be more helpful to provide an explanation why the move is wrong. Especially for beginners who may not understand the tactics involved, this would be a great teaching tool.

Simply saying that a move is not correct without an explanation isn’t very helpful.
This is just my own opinion of course. I like doing the puzzles, but I’m often left bewildered with why particular moves are wrong without any apparent reason.

just go over puzzle afterwards in analysis and see what comp plays after “incorrect move”

There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of puzzles. Trying to add a description to every wrong move would be impossible because of how many there are. If you don’t understand why a move is wrong, you can post it in the forums and ask.

Hmm, then perhaps explaining why the correct move is correct would also explain why other moves are wrong— my point is something more detailed beyond "That's wrong."  "That's right."

Thanks. That's at least a decent workaround to provide some insight. Although a well-written explanation would still be preferable.
