I remember when I first started, I used to think that the queen was so important- without it I was 💥. I was right about one thing. The queen is important. But you can defiantly win without it. One, pawns. You can retrieve your queen back with your pawns if you have any. If you don’t? Rooks! Basically queens without the bishop’s strength. And very powerfull. Use those when you want to checkmate your opponent’s king! So see? A queen on the board does not mean: Go cry and weep and give up and hate yourself. Nooo! You got this! 😋
Happiness is checkmating an opponent who has a queen but you don't.
Even better if the opponent's queen is blocking the king's only square for escape.
Losing a queen loses the game.
Queening a pawn wins the game.
