Hi..I’m a beginner.....I hover around the 1400 mark on the quiz section....is the quiz score any indication of an OTB elo score?...Thanks

Sorry..my mistake..I meant the Puzzle section of Chess.com.....where my membership gives me 25 puzzles every day.

Puzzle rating is almost always a lot higher (by hundreds of points) than any other rating. The only way to know your chess.com rating is to play rated games.

Yes, my bullet and rapid are 1100, my blitz is 1000, and my puzzle rating is 1900. Maybe I'm good at tactics but bad at everything else... like not blundering...

Very interesting reading
I may dip my toe in online games against opponents....and maybe in the future play OTB.

Puzzles are fun ... But games can be a lot more fun.

And frustrating...

Appreciate the positive vibes.
As for puzzles...
I attempt them in bed at 00.01 not a good idea
I sometimes jump in with my move too quickly
My brain stalls at anything more difficult than mate in 2 or 3 moves
I get frustrated at times.

Apart from that it’s all good

But yeah it’s a patient learning curve this Chess Milarky!!
