Rating Lock

It has been a while since I have posted, I hope everyone is doing well. Something I have noticed lately is related to my opponents skill level. A few of you may remember a while back that I posted about a huge drop in rating I experienced, going from about 1050-1100 down to about 750-800. Since then I haven’t been able to reach that level again on this account.

Recently I opened another account according to the chess.com rules and after a starting rating of 800, I am now sitting comfortably over the 1000 rating and I feel that I am playing opponents about my skill level give or take a few games. On my main account I still feel stuck at my current 800 rating. I am getting losing positions very early on and my opponents seem way stronger than I am.

After almost 1300 rapid games on this account I wonder if I am just stuck at my rating. On my second account I am past the point of figuring out the rating but I feel that I am able to make some forward or backward progress there still.

Any thoughts as to why I am “stuck” on this account? I don’t believe the rating system is rigged or anything like some do, I just thought this was an interesting or strange situation.
