Just hit 801 rating, I’m being more patient and less aggressive and calculating more than one or two moves at a time. I’ve won 16 games in a row.

Well done! Keep it up!

My biggest tip for a beginner would be to add the “Blunder Check” to your thinking algorithm.

So once you have a candidate-move, check if you’re not blundering a piece, mate or something else. If you do this enough times it becomes more and more of a habit and soon enough you won’t even have to think about it anymore.

That's one reason I like playing with the Chess.com app on my tablet. It has a setting "Confirm each move", which lets you make the move and then look again for blunders before committing the move.

It's great, not just for blunder-checking, but also for looking at different candidate moves before you make up your mind.

I wish this was available for PC as well.

I know. There's no reason why they shouldn't release that feature in the browser app as well.

The only downside of it is that it doesn't train you to practice developing your spatial imagination for over-the-board or any other play that doesn't have the feature.

True but in all honesty I think the vast majority of chess.com users will never/very seldom play OTB.

I certainly don't have any intention to play OTB any time soon happy.png

Me neither. So it would be beneficial for most of us to have that implemented. Players who don't want it can just turn it off.

You should probably stop playing Blitz and go for longer games instead. Rapid 30 minutes for example.
