I hate this mentality, which almost every beginner uses, games are boring, not creative, makes me want to smash opponent face for being so untalented and scared, the only way you learn is by making mistakes and aiming high not aiming low and safe, if you have same mentality in real life you are probably not successful carrier wise

Great! Exactly, your postion should be good to attack your oppenent and castle early! There are some openings that prefer attacking in the opening like the fried liver, but these tips are just perfect! Tottaly Agree.

You are wrong in calling this style boring. This is chess.

Beginners try to attack too soon. It may work against other beginners. But against anyone other than a beginner, a premature attack will be pushed back. As a result, the “attacker” loses time and hands the advantage to their opponent.

it is not boring to develop all of your pieces and then try to continually improve your position. This is the way you achieve attacking opportunities against decent opponents.

this is not boring. This is chess.

I agree. Solid play is best at the lower levels. You opponent should eventually make a mistake.

Try to play like Floyd Mayweather used to fight. Let your opponent come at you. Frustrate with your solid defence. Counterattack viciously, exploit your opponent's weaknesses and then destroy.

any tips on exploiting opponents mistakes? That's one thing that really trips me up and I'm trying to get to 1000 by the end of the year.

That’s awesome! Congrats on breaking through that 1000 Elo wall—it’s a huge mental barrier for so many players, and your story is super inspiring. That “secret tip” about not forcing attacks too early is gold. At sub-1200 levels, aggressive plays often backfire into blunders, while patient, improving moves build a winning position over time. Your 16-game streak sounds epic; beating higher-rated opponents is the best confidence booster.

Your routine looks solid and sustainable—no burnout risk since it’s interest-driven.

boring... try to win even if you cant, never force or acceot draws, if the game is a natural draw try to gamble to win, okay you mostly wont win those, but you will develop better knowing you could draw and move on, but you believe you could guve a try

I was really struggling to get to 1000 Elo. Like struggling is even the wrong word, I though its more or less impossible in the near future and I have to do a lot of studying. However I came up a Youtube Video that had 6 tips to give me better Elo. (Learn a couple openings, play longer games, castle early etc) and one secret tip that really helped me out:

Do not try to attack/win too early. So in Midgame instead of attacking a plan which lets be honest ends up in blunders by us news more often than not. I just go for save and boring plays that slightly improve my position if possible. I think from 750 to 900 I had a 16 game winning streak. Playing against >1000 Opponents I lost a couple but nevertheless climbed quite fast.

I hope this helps other people too.

My current routine to improve now is:

Playing

2 daily chess games (3 day, 7 day) always running

Play 30 mins game when I want to (nothing less) If possible I would go for 60 min or 45/45, but not there yet and often don't have the time.

Studying

Scanning for Blunders after the game, trying to understand situations where I was unsure what to do. I'm not remembering any specific suggestions or any moves that turn out to be better in like 5 moves, thats above my level yet

Do the lesson plan here. I'm at the intermediate Level now. Always making notes going through it slowly.

Mix in some Tactics.

Watch Videos or articles about opening. Soon I want to go really deep into ruy lopez and sicilian. Since those are most of my games. and also quite the most common.

Of all that I don't have fixed times, I just do what I'm interested in the moment *shrug*. Hope Ill hit 1100 soon

Your advice is to "Not attack"? Thats News to me. Defending is much harder than attacking, so instead of Not attacking, learn HOW to attack, because defending is the hardest job out there, as long as you coordinate your pieces well, you can attack
