time nomenclature

I'm new to playing on chess.com and don't understand some of the time options available to choose. Like, 1/1, 2/1, 5/5, 3/2, 45/45, etc. I haven't been able to find anything on this website or elsewhere that describes what these mean. I tried playing a 45/45 game today and the game clock made no sense to me. Help this noob out!

the first number is the number of minutes each side has on the clock at the start of the game

the second number is the amount of seconds that get added to your clock at the end of each move

Thanks for the explanation, much appreciated.
