Personally I thought you would like to play defensively, true? The queen sure is an awesome piece, and you need to use your queen (e.g. Qe7) to protect the king and other pieces from the enemy queen.
Tips for improvement
Yes indeed lol! Learning how to defend is certainly something I want to get way better at I've lost a lot because of silly checkmates early on or losing a ton of material in the first few turns. It's one thing to lose after a bit of a battle but it stinks to lose so early on in a match.
@1
"I'm literally stuck between a 200 and 300 elo." ++ A rating of 300 is a sign of frequent blunders. Always check your intended move is no blunder before you play it.
"I'm struggling with stopping people's queens if they develop her early"
++ Moving the queen early is bad, as you can chase it and gain time.
Here is an example game
"I've had several games where I've gotten checkmated early"
++ Check that your intended move does not lead to checkmate before you play it.
I appreciate the example game you linked! I think studying games that other people play is something I need to do a lot more and am going to to do from here on out. You certainly are very correct about the blunders I think my blunder percentage for all the moves I make is around 10 percent. So yes I definitely make a lot of silly mistakes! But on the bright side all I can do is learn from them.

Send me one of your games and I'll be happy to analyze the game for free on my YouTube channel on Sunday livestream from 1-2PM PST. Ask me questions in real time!
This is a great way to improve!
Here’s more ideas to help you get better.
-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces” and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.” Both books are available on Amazon.com. Both books are endorsed by chess masters!
- Check out the 500 puzzles for beginners. These puzzles are unique and cannot be found anywhere else: . These puzzles are endorsed by chess masters!
-If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.
-Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Always as, “If I move here, where is my opponent going to move?”. Do this for every single move!
-Play with a slow time control, such as G/30 so you have plenty of time to think before every move.
When they bring the queen out early, instead of panicking, stay calm. Look for every possible way to attack their queen by when developing one of ya own pieces. So hopefully you can develop a few pieces just by chasing their queen around. or keep threatening to trap her so they crack

This is bad advice. The first thing you should do is NOT look for ways to attack the Queen while developing a piece. The first thing you should do is CHECK if the Queen is attacking anything or threatening anything.
No it's very good advice. You want to develop a piece every time you make her run. A lot of times I can develop many pieces just by chasing her around.. By the time they get her to a safety square my army is all out in the battle field & they still got nothing developed. Then it's an easy ride for me if I manage to do it. In my opinion anyway, but I'm not an expert. Often I love it if they try & bring her out early.
@pmp333, I have read your feelings and also watched some of your games, What i notice is that you dont have basic knowledge of chess, I am sorry to say but its true. Now you have to dive into ocean of chess, where you don't know where to start, let me handle your case. First thing in basics of chess is to know that how will you win in the chess because both players have same power of pieces. There are two methods to win. 1: to decrease the activity of your opponent's pieces. 2: To win the material of your opponent like pawns and pieces for free . What you have to do next is to whenever you play your next game, you should control the center with your pawns and pieces, and do not try to attack early, first develop your pieces and castle then attack. I hope these instructions will help you in your chess game. If you need any help, you can inbox me.

Re-read my reply again because it's obvious you don't understand
No it's the other way around, you need to read what I typed more carefully as you don't understand.
Peace & love lol
When your opponent brings their Queen out early, it may be an opportunity for you to get a lead in development, but it will probably also be dangerous. You need to first look what is being threatened - i.e. if it were your opponents move, what could they play that would most hurt you. Once you are aware of any such threats, consider moves that deal with their threat and - hopefully - assist your development by attacking their Queen. It is not always easy to punish early attacks, and you probably won't always get it right, but this is the correct approach.
For example, if a game starts 1 e4 e5 2 Bc4 Nc6 3 Qh5 you can develop and attack the Queen at the same time with 3...Nf6. This seems like an excellent idea, but it runs into 4 Qxf7 checkmate. So instead you might play 3...Qd7 - not a great developing move, and it doesn't kick their Queen - but it does stop checkmate. The following move you can probably play 4...Nf6 which does kick their Queen and develops the Knight to an excellent square.
This could help you get a sense of how to improve

Hello guys! So I've been playing online off and on for 4 years but I have not played consistently throughout most of the time. I finally on a whim started playing again this week and I'm having a lot of fun because I truly do love this game. But I'm literally stuck between a 200 and 300 elo. I want to get better obviously but I don't know where to start. Any suggestions on how to improve? In particular I'm struggling with stopping people's queens if they develop her early I can never stop her at all I just get sliced like a stick of butter. I've had several games where I've gotten checkmated early and I just want to learn how to defend against that I feel helpless when that happens 😩
I feel you bro. I think studying games and reviewing tactics on the puzzles from this site really helped me improve from 300 to 600.
