vision tactics training.

Hi looking for some advice towards improvement. I am rated around 850 and this morning while analysing my games I noticed that I have a systematic vision weakness on the diagonals (especially with queens, but sometimes also with bishops). This morning for example, I missed a Qxh8+ which would have won the game. and in another game my opponent hanged his queen in the centre of the board but I didn't see that my queen from a8 could have captured it. Luckily my opponent resigned before my blunder reached the server but that doesn't change the fact I didn't see it. I only have time to commit to a 10 min blitz game usually and I am already a pretty slow player, frequently flagging or making simple blunders in time trouble. Is there a puzzle tactics type thing I can train this with to get my pattern recognition and board vision improving? Thanks for the help.

Clearly you will improve your vision as you perform tactical exercises, see some that have to do positionally with the game

Are there specific settings in the learning categories I can turn on/off to make my training targeted?

You can do something about bishops, fianchetto, mate in 1 and battery

pattern recognition. Always be on the lookout on unseen vectors, and when you miss those, keep them in mind. Try to set them up.

Dear Cksiu,

This skill can also be improved if you know the right method how to do it. You know, a coach can help you a lot with it because he can guide you to the right calculation. I have very effective techniques for that. happy.png Let me introduce myself.

My name is Gabor Balazs. I am a Hungarian FM, fighting for the IM title. My top ELO is 2435. I have been playing chess for 21 years. I won the Hungarian Rapid Championship twice (U16 and U18).

I love teaching chess and it is very important for me that both of us enjoy the lessons beside the hard work. I have pupils almost all the levels from beginners to advanced players (1100-2200 ELO).
