what defines "kids", sub 13?
I'm 13 and am rated 1900 chess.com and 1500 fide and play nationally.
but I know plenty of people much better than me both younger and same age (in fact a friend of mine is a 13 yr old 2200+ CM)
I think age has nothing to do with it I think all that matters is total time playing the game properly (my friend has been play for 6 years I've only been play for 2)
Am 11 and my rateing,s is 1550

When I was 8 my rating was 1400, but I quit for a while because I had some exams I had to prepare for so after the exam when I rejoined (May 2024 - Almost 12) I dropped to around 1000 within a month. After taking some chess classes (I use chess kid for playing chess) I by this year well 2025 I became 1300. I sometimes wonder if I didn't quit chess how high my Elo could've gone.
