what made you play chess

The movie, “Queens Gambit.”

Playing my family members when I was young. I have recently picked it up again because my kids want to learn.

A high school friend asked if I wanted to go to the chess club and check it out.

I learned it young from my grandfather, who felt like a grandmaster to me at the time. I dropped it and picked it back up like 4 years ago when i got absolutelyy crushed by my 1300 friend on chess.com. i haven't played chess for a while and it felt like i need to get this revenge. I'm always very competitive with everything even tho i know damn well i can't be better than him if i don't work. Well, its been 4 years, i got from 600 elo to 1600 elo and won a few games against this friend, but overall we never played that much and even if we did, i would win 1 out of 10 games. He is 2000 elo now.
