What's going wrong for me?

I'm having a terrible weekend of chess. I was 881 in rapid yesterday morning and now at 829.

Since joining the site in late Feb I've limited myself to one game per day (usually 30 minute rapid) and only play a second game if I lose the first.  Yesterday I lost my first two games but with time on my hands played again and again, and just kept losing.

I played 7 rapid games with minimum 15/10 time control. The only rapid game I won was unrated.

I've played two games today, one 20 minute and one 30 minute and lost both.

Playing how I have been I've been on an upward trajectory for the past two months. So what the hell is going on?  Am I just facing better players?  Are they cheating? What?

In my last game I was taking sometimes two minutes before making a move, so it's not that I'm rushing.

How do you break a losing streak?

I had this losing streak not long ago too.

My rating fell from 1600 down to 1460 points during a few hours ! LOL

Just make a timeout.

It's incredibly frustrating.

The trouble is it knocks my confidence.  Think I might take a couple of days off chess to wind down and re-set.

Yes, yes... My constant loses broke my confidence and will too.

I even thought that I unlearn to play Chess.

Even now I can't find explanations for this black streak.

I lost a dozen of games in row.

Hi. I looked at your last loss against @zif.. I thought you made some good decisions, couple of occasions you held tension and developed a piece rather than automatically exchange. Why did you trade Queens? I dont think it was trapped. Your opponent's king was open, e5 was weak and looked like a good target to go after. I thought taking the Queens off helped your opponent. Have a think about whether the exchange was down to confidence and you might hit on the reason for a losing streak. It affects decision making. Take a break from play.

Thanks Mark.

I exchanged Queens (or offered and he accepted) because I felt confident I could beat him, plain and simple.  I thought it would benefit me more than him.

The computer regarded it as a blunder however so you are correct.  i suppose the fact he could get his second Rook into play on the active/open side of the board before me should've made me consider that more carefully.

I'm going to take a break for two days (I don't want to leave it too long) and then resume my one game per day rule. Might start playing 45 minute games so I have longer to consider moves.

But why do you hold to this your rule... to play only one game a day?

I'm trying to go for quality over quantity.

One game per day (if I lose, I might play another, this weekend I played a lot and lost a lot).

I can't squeeze too many games in during a working day anyhow. One 30 minute rapid game can take an hour if it goes to the wire. Play one game per day and do my best to win it. Throw in some puzzles, lessons and videos on YT and I think that's a good way to improve.

I've played a few more blitz games recently, but I'm going to knock those on the head.
