The best openings for beginners, are those where you do feel you understand what's going on, what you're doing, etc.

Probably not the same set of openings for each and every player... You have to figure out all by yourself, what suits you.

I’d add that everyone has their own thing, so it’s worth experimenting with different openings and seeing what actually clicks for you. What works for one player might be a total disaster for another, so finding a style that feels comfortable is key.
I also recommend checking out this website, which has many high-quality offers that most people will like.

I like queens gambit because it leads to active quick sharp strategic games involving the pieces. E4 leads to the quiet game with a basic deadlock if played well. My rating went from 900 to 650 though when i played it, so im bad at it obviously. But its more fun. Went back to e4 and climbing back up again....boring though

I like the Queen's pawn opening (to allow the queen space to move), and then the Kadas opening (to get the rook moving). After making just those two openings, pretty much all your pieces with wider range of movement can move.

I also have used the queen‘s gambit quite often. Just recomnend to stick to the basic rule: always have all your pieces covered/double covered if necessary.

are you insane?

what do you mean?

you are insane. In your last game I reviewed, you blundered your rook by “opening it’s range”. Develop your knights and bishops. No wonder you’re 300 elo. You don’t castle 🤦

My preferred opening is the Bishop’s Opening: Berlin Defense, Ponziani Gambit (got from 600-940 :D)

whatever. Agree to disagree. I’m just stating a fact, saying which openings I like.

The best opening for beginners is the one that prevents the player from throwing his pawns and pieces away for no reason.

And, quite unfortunately, such an opening does not exist.
