When should a beginner use the woodpecker?

At what elo level should a new player try out the woodpecker method, more specifically with the woodpecker book by Axel Smith and Hans Tikkanen?

What I mean by this is at which elo level can a player work out the intermediate or even advanced puzzles to get the most out of this book, so he isnt left with just with the beginner puzzles, getting only 1/3 of the book.

Each puzzle is from a game featuring a minimum of one World Champion, including the easy ones.

So don’t be ashamed if you get some wrong or have a hard time solving them.

Almost any player can benefit from the book, as it is basically grinding tactics en masse, with a twist of repeating the set in cycles.

Just what the doctor ordered for beginner, intermediate, and even advanced players.

I like the approach of calculating the whole problem from start to finish without use of a board, or at least prior to moving any piece on the board, as it gives an extra layer of challenge to it, and will make you quite a bit sharper at calculation.

The easy puzzles to intermediate will do just fine. Start as early as you can if you have a basic grasp of the game.

I use it...

I tried woodpecker. It weakens my game. I tend to get the habit on just guessing the moves.

You can start at any level. Just adapt it to your level. For example, set yourself a realistic (!!!) daily time limit for calculation exercises. Let's say, 30 or 60 mins, and do it consistently (!!!) for 4 weeks, see how far you get. It's NOT like puzzle rush. Take your time for each exercise and WRITE DOWN the variations you calculated. Don't just make a move that looks good (remember it's not guessing, it's calculating). After four weeks, your personal first set is complete. Now you take a short break of a couple of days, then you start your set over again. The goal is to be able to do it in half the time, so only 14 days. Still, WRITE DOWN your moves. This forces you to not guess. Repeat the cycle seven times and you are well see a huge improvement in your calculation skills. Moreover, your pattern recognition will get better.
