Why Beginners should not play blitz

In this video play two 3-minute blitz games against a player rated in the 800-900 range. I don't think either of us learned anything new from either game.

If you want to improve, you have. to practice playing your best, not simply repeating the moves and patterns you already know.

Definitely! Thank you for the video! Another streamer (gothamchess) recommended regularly doing 15 minutes of puzzles, and limit to 2 games at 10-15 minutes each for beginners like me.

You should apply for the chess.com streamer if you haven't already happy.png

Didn't watch the video but I agree, new players shouldn't be doing blitz or bullet, they will just be wasting their time and getting frustrated.

Slow is smoothe. Smoothe is fast.

Learn to play well, and after that you can learn to play fast

Yes, I agree. I think the point of playing fast is to practice or drill what you already know, not to learn how to play better.
