Do not worry about openings, take care to avoid mistakes.
Why is my rating so low

every player in chess.com have a brain ,so if you don't play very serious and hard ,you can't get higher rank , i don't think you need to go higher ,we just play for some fun,it's not our job to play chess

Hi! My name is Lauren Goodkind and I’m a respected chess coach and chess YouTuber based in California:

I'm glad you want to get better. Therefore, here’s some ideas to help you get better. I love helping others get better at chess.
-I recommend two books for you: “50 Poison Pieces” and “Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery.” Both books are available on Amazon.com. Both books are endorsed by chess masters!
-If you are serious about chess, I highly recommend you hiring a chess coach to help you.
-Also consider all checks and captures on your side and also your opponent’s side. Always as, “If I move here, where is my opponent going to move?”
-Play with a slow time control, such as G/30 so you have plenty of time to think before every move.
I hope that this helps.
Stop chasing pieces.
Watch for forks, pins and skewers.
Make sure your pieces aren't hanging.
Make a plan to attack either side or the middle.
Know your end games.
Stick with an opening and let the computer perfect it through analysis.

How do I delete this post? My bullet rating is 1600 right now, and with more patience I could probably achieve that rating in other time controls as well.

you got to learn to play more accurate and safe moves cause tactics are hard to spot at your level and the idea that you have to be consistent with what you learn makes it harder ;-;

congrats on the bullet, also sadly there is no way to delete :/

I can't seem to improve any at all really. I know tactics, I know a few basic openings, and my rating is wildly fluctuating between 825 and 975. I don't understand what's so bad about how I'm playing.
I won the game below, but I really should have lost. Most of my games go like this but they don't end so well for me.
I wouldn't expect games against players this low rated to be so tactically difficult.
Good job on 1500 bullet man

Oh.
well you could ask a moderator to lock it. My favorite mod is @martin_stahl

@B1ZMARK @Fuchina thanks! . And yes please @martin_stahl could you lock this thread please? For anyone who comes by the thread, just keep watching videos and review your games, do puzzles and play consistently, sometimes it can feel like you're making no progress for a long time and then you get sudden improvements if you just keep at it consistently.

I think you can PM him. That's what I did when I wanted a thread locked.
Cute pup, yeah I am experiencing the same issue where I was rank 950 and was winning lots of games...now I'm down to 650, I've actually gotten a lot better than before too. When it comes down to it, I do think there are a lot of players out there that are experienced and are setting up accounts to play the game on easy mode. You can really tell when you go from one guy who is blundering every other move to another who is making every move very precisely and it only takes them seconds to do. It's blatant really. I also need to be a little less trigger happy on the resign button.
