Game 1 when i was up a rook i was able to hunt down his king while keeping my own safe and set up a "queen and helper" mating net. Game 2 I didn't waste much time and was developing my pieces, castling, and not hemming in too many pieces. Disregarding my Not so castling topic, it's good to castle. And make sure to do it before your king sees danger!

In game 1 21.Qxd4 is a blunder

I know. The queen was tied to the rook

TXBaseballFan

he forgot to castle

I think the title ought to be "Why you shouldn't hang rooks."

had he castled i would have no decisive attack

TXBaseballFan

I guess. O-O was better than Qxd4

TXBaseballFan

What about a hanging checkmate threat?

i'd love it if those pieces were an option in theme settings!
