1,000 ELO

After really starting to grind my way up from the low 300's in late April, I've finally broken 1,000 rapid rating! I know it's still a bad rating in the grand scheme of things and I do not plan on stopping, but I still want to make this post I guess to help others who are struggling. It seems every time I see someone post about how happy they are with their progression in rating, there's always someone there to ruin the moment, "That is a terrible rating", "Nothing to celebrate over", "Who asked" stuff like that. No matter where we are on our shared road of chess, we can improve, of course! However, chess is a game, especially at the lower levels, it isn't something to be guarded, nor something to use as an excuse to be rude. We're all just trying to have fun, and today I have made a big goal, and before the brutal reality of chess sets back in, I wanted to solidify this moment and my thoughts on some commonalities in the chess community.

Have a great day!

I don't know who said 1000 wasn't an accomplishment. I say celebrate all of the chess milestones you reach! happy.png Congrats on 1000+ rating happy.png

Congrats on your 1000 happy.png I hit 1000 recently and was also proud, and have since dropped back under angry.png takes a lot of concentration and thought to get to when chess isn't your life or occupation

I've broken the 1000 myself a few days ago, but 'only' from 800 (old man needs longer to learn new tricks), and i think It's not the overall rating that counts, it's the improvment, and improving by a 700 is quite an accomplishment.  thumbup

Congratulations. However, aim to achieve good chess and brilliant moves, forget about elo.
