Across The Board

The article I wrote about in my other post was advertising a series of BBC Radio programmes called "Across the Board", in which five famous-ish people are interviewed over a game of chess. How very civilised. I propose that all interviews should be conducted in this manner.

The programmes run from Monday to Friday starting tomorrow, and the interviewees are:

  1. John Healy - writer and former alcoholic
  2. Rachel Reeves - UK Shadow Cabinet Minister and former Junior Chess Champion
  3. Lennox Lewis - former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion
  4. Hou Yifan - 19 year old Women's World Chess Champion
  5. Natan Sharansky - former Soviet dissident and Isreali politician.

If you can't listen to the live programmes, then catch up on BBC iPlayer after they are broadcast, and you can also follow the games played each episode on chess.co.uk (SPOILER ALERT  - don't click that link if you don't want to know the results yet!)
