Was Black Beard clever or a dumb thief?

He made it to the history books, good going Blackbeard.

Then again, so did George W. Bush.

As all the Presidents did, but not all the Pirates.

Good point, Hessian.  Okay, not all philosophers made the history books, but Henri Bergson did, and he was an idiot.  And let's not forget Van Gogh and Fischer...

Are we sure that Garfield and Fillmore really made it to the history books?

 Idiots are good reading.

HessianWarrior No not really. I get Fillmore's name mixed up with the comic strip, and actually the most famous Garfield is not the president, it's the cat. There are probably a minority of presidents where I can name a single fact about them, or about something they did as president.

For example, do you know the only president to also serve as a Chief Justice?

I want to say that it was the quiet fat guy, but I forgot his name.

Look it up in your History Book, it's there so that Chess Whizzes who know a hundred openings can recall American History like Garfield was the second American President to be Assassinated.
