Chess appreciation!!!

Every chess player is different. They have their own different values in this game and their own goals in life to reach. The way they choose to use that skill of theirs is up to them.

Ask 20 different chess players these questions and get 20 different answers.
Q1. Do you appreciate chess?
A1. Sure, I don't see why not. It's been around for more than a thousand years or so...You can never stop learning about it.
Q2. Do you think it is beneficial or it is descructive?
A2. ROFL. Personally, I use it as an escape from stress at work, it's even more satisfying when beer is added. As for the destructive part, there was a guy on here that made the funniest thread ever, about having nightmares of Giant Pawns. The posts that thread has created were HILARIOUS!! Ask AlCzervik, he knows what I'm talking about. I really was laughing my ass off on that forum.
Q3. Do you like the thrill of battle or do you like to just watch others play and waste there time?
A3. Chess is NOT a waste of time!!! People have spent DAYS watching the Jodi Arias trial, THAT IS A WASTE OF TIME!!! I like to see how the game ends up. Even Rooks and Pawns? Or how about a Queen and Pawn ending? Those are usually drawn. Or what if you or your opponent blunders or makes a bad move and you exclaim "I HAVE YOU NOW!!" Or how about a Lone King Vs. Lone King draw? I've had a handful of those types of games myself. I seems that the possibilities are endless, of course, if Bobby Fischer was here, he could probably tell you exactly how many possible endgames could occur.
Q4. Do you think it is unimportant or do you not care at all any which way?
A4. You mean chess appreciation in general? This thread itself? I can speculate, that if no one cared, they wouldn't post. If they do post negative things, then they are obviously trolling. Sound legit?

Some folks like to spend their time watching how the Baseball game turns out.
Others, that golf tourney.
Myself, I like to watch how the chess Grandmasters are doing.
Are all of these wastes of time? Perhaps.
But you know what? It's our time to waste!

Very good point

Q1. Do you appreciate chess?
A1. No, but I like trolling the forums. And apparently, I needed to know a couple of things about chess to get people take me seriously.
Q2. Do you think it is beneficial or it is destructive?
A2. Can't tell. My intellectual abilities used to be good, but since I started chess...
Q3. Do you like the thrill of battle or do you like to just watch others play and waste their time?
A3. I prefer wasting others' time by trolling to sword fencing, if that was the question.
Q4. Do you think it is unimportant or do you not care at all any which way?
A4. It is extremely important. Recruiters are impressed to know you play chess seriously. Don't ask me why, but it is the way it is...
Seriously, the honest answers will all look the same : yes, beneficial, both, yes but no.

I keep looking back at the thread where the guy mentioned he was having nightmares and throwing chairs whenever I see
"Do you think (chess) it is beneficial or it is destructive?"
Plus the trolling part that Irontiger mentioned.
You guys are familiar with Craig's List, yes? Or is that an American only tihng. What I'm getting at, is in Craig's List, they have a "Best of Craig's List." You can flag posts for the "Best" because of the amount of humor involved. Or whatever the reason is why you think a post should be honored.
I'd like to nominate this foloowing thread, for "Best of Chess.com," for the amount of humor it has generated:
Irontiger, bestmom and AlCzervik, do you guys agree?

Take a look at this game
I had a plan here: I sacrificed a Rook in exchange of a Bishop in order to get two central passed pawns. One evening, after having some beers with my friends, I go home. Once there, I turn the computer on and take a look at this game. I know I shouldn't but I can't resist making a move. But instead of the obvious 49. Nd5+, which wins the game in a few moves I go for 49. fxe6 After one second I realize what I have done and resign. This is not my idea of fun :(

Umm...errrr...well... If he's such a "genius," my question would be, why didn't he use his psychic powers to prevent himself from being mated.
lulz
