The felineofthewest, it can't move, unless it captures. It captures like a king without the diagonals, but when it gets to the 8th rank it can promote. It can be "moved" by other pieces, where one of your pieces lands on the square the felineofthewest is on, and it moves 1 square up. These pieces cannot move backward.

The hippo: moves like a king, but can also capture your own pieces. Promotes to a scratchippo when adjacent to a promoter.
The promoter: moves 1 or 2 squares in any direction.
The scratchippo creates Scratches when it captures another piece.
played on a 10x8 board with hippos between knights and bishops and promoters in front of the e-pawn and f-pawn.

Can move 6 squares in any direction, can skip over pieces, captures every piece in a 3x3 grid around the destination square
the catapult. a rook that can you can use your hands to take off pieces in between up down left right diagonal but it has to be in between 3 squares
