I'm not sure if this is really the cause of my improved playing lately...but I'm pretty sure it is. I've been playing a lot of Gomoku lately (for those of you who aren't familiar with that term, it's the game where you try to construct five in a row before your opponent does). As a result of that I've found my ability to find pins/forks/other downright evil moves that allow advantages has increased substantially from previously. It's also helped with my attacking and defense tremendously. I just want to know if this idea of improving has merit and if anyone else has tried this?
