Oops, yeah I did. Here is a legal position of self-stalemate.

No, you're looking at the board wrong. White's home rank is at the bottom of the board, and the promotion rank is at the top of the board. However, I did make a mistake by switching white's rook and knight at a8 and b8.

Very good observation.  :)  That is correct.  The black pawns need to make a minimum of 5 captures to reach that position, but white has only lost 4 pieces so that position cannot happen in a game.

That position looks legal since black's queen could have been a promotion from black's h-pawn.

No, it's illegal. The Black h-pawn would have had to get past the White h- or g-pawn, but they're still both on their starting squares. How about this? Still illegal?

Well, the pawns would have had to get past each other to get that far, so it's illegal. Also, the rooks, queens, kings, and bishops couldn't have gotten in there. :-)
