what should i do now? i belive in controlling the center but i seem to suck at setting up when there is no obvious move. my offence seems weak right here.

Avatar of realDrift

i know that but since it's just unrated against a comp i thought it'd be ok.

next time i should reduce the picture..

for the record, this is the first time i've ever publicised one of these games.

it just ended by stupider than average moves by white.

You need to develop your bishops and knights early and not make so many pawn moves. Take a look at some grandmaster games and just pay close attention to how they play the opening.

1: where? what GM games?

2:i was thinking trading anything but pawns was ridiculous.. you see i was thinking i didn't like trading(exept knights or bishops for castles) so i just used pawn pressure and grabbed space.

it's true that i've aslo looked like an ars when i sent my pawns out of defencive, that is back row postions some games.

BTW the easy mode usually dosn't make such ridiculous moves..

There's grandmaster games everywhere on the internet. http://www.chessgames.com/ is probably the best place to look at games. Also If you're serious abour chess, I would recommend reading some classic chess books. Steinitz and Tarrasch are both good authors for beginners to read.

Try to defend all of your pawns by developing your pieces. If he pushes a pawn to attack your center, try not to take back unless you have to. You want to retain the center. Once all of your pieces are nicely developed and you still have the center, you can formulate a plan. On your level, it really doesn't matter if you choose a mediocre plan. Good Luck!

what do you mean by 'take back' here?

mr. mustard,

interesting opening on the game of the day of that site. it looked familar at first but then the pawns started advancing often instead of taking attack opportunitys. just like THE chessmaster.
