its a setup to a triangulation
Eight Pawns and one promoted Bishop?
remove one of the bishops and put it in the proof game thread
There's a proof game thread?
white has promoted pieces but whites pawns are stopped by blacks pawns
(black also hasnt lost anything)
You could have worked a little harder at making it look like it might be legal.
y is that supposed to be illegal??
It took me a while to realise that the White king cannot access the back rank. The e6 pawn somehow distracted me from realising that the pawns are on b7, c7, f7 and g7. I tried to disprove the position and only realised this once I got the White king to c5.
Can anyone prove that my position from post #239 is illegal? For convenience, I can transfer the diagram onto the current page:
no previous moves
black to move
uhh why is that illegal?
It's easy. Think about it.
i still dont get it
blacks king can get there ez and the bg1 gets there via h2 and after that blacks pawns come there? (oh and btw whites pawn is on h4 captured or something)

Here's the position. With Black to play, there are plenty of previous moves for White. With White to play, Black has the previous move Pf2xe1=R. Why won't either of those possibilities work to make the position legal?
ok
