They played chess in star trek, too... Data played with some alien guy that was super awesome. I don't remember the episode name, and it was called strategery or strategisticalist or some other nonsense.
I think you are referring to when Data played ‘Strategema’ Which wasn’t Star Trek 3D chess.
It was more like a 3D version of Go with 3, three dimensional boards. And it wasn’t turn based so both players made moves at the same time. Presumably at least ten moves at a time as each player had controls on all ten fingers.

I went fishing and caught a N-E-R-D! lol, yup that's what it was called. Guess I didn't remember it accurately- it's been a while since I saw it.

ok, but can you tell me about the chess scenes in Dr. Who as well? I know of 2 at least (I can't say I've seen every episode of the 40 year history so there are probably more- of course if you were a big enough nerd you could respond to why that would not be possible to have seen all of them if you're born after it started)
