Pleasant and Unpleasant Positions

In post game analysis, why do Grand Masters dwell on the word pleasant and unpleasant so often? What are they really thinking about?

“I find this position pleasant…for White.”

“This position…not so pleasant for Black.”

“After this and that move, I find it most pleasant…for White”.  Really?

Oh my. Grand Masters and their insatiable pursuit of pleasurable positions.

Feel free to post your most pleasant positions, and even those that are most unpleasant. Uh…oh… Innocent

Well, it is Saturday, a day off for many silly things.

It appears I have failed to be silly in the jokes section of the forum. Laughing

Some positions are objectively more or less OK, but unpleasant to play - you'd rather avoid the scenario. It's part of the daily reasoning of any chess player.

IMHO, the pleasantness depends on the opponent.  So if they say "this is unpleasant for white" maybe they mean that the black player is a grump?
