I had several cheap chess sets from discount stores I wanted to unload, so have been leaving them on tables and benches around town, to promote chess. One set attracted a family within five minutes, and they sat down to play. I placed another (with wood pieces), on a table at a mall, then left for about 15 minutes. When I returned, it was gone. Did a security guard take it? Several were patrolling on Segways. "Security alert, chess set in section G! Red alert!".
