Signs you're a good chess player

1. You know when to actually use side castling.

2. You observe the board instead of moving on an impulse.

3. You activate your pieces without endangering them.

4. You don't offer draws unless you see a stalemate coming on.

5. You play hard in the endgame.

6. You know what "Positional Chess" actually means.

7. You don't try and make your moves sound complex.

8. You always promote to a Queen, or rarely a knight.

9. You set up clever checkmates.

10. You value the Knight as an early attacker.

11. You see when your opponent tries to capture a valuable piece.

12. You don't give away pawns.

13. You understand En Passant, and don't use it just to look cool.

14. You don't blunder frequently.

15. You despise bullet chess. (JK)

15. (Actually) You prefer Daily or Rapid games over the ones where you have to move fast.

16. You play the variants too.

17. You know the special movements of each piece.

18. You use Pawn to d4 when possible.

19. You know the Mutual Respect Rule between Kings.

20. You reveal attacks on your pieces.

21. You kick pieces with pawns.

22. You attack a Rook diagonally.

23. You never trade a piece that could set up checkmate in the near future.

24. You NEVER, EVER, partake in a bad trade.

25. You don't use the Lolz board. (Why, though?)

26. You can identify any piece with any style.

27. You ready a sacrifice for your king early game.

28. You get creative with your attacks.

29. You understand a pawn can move two spaces ONLY at the beginning.

30. When playing IRL, you don't try to trick your opponent or play risky.

31. You can tell apart a Queen and King IRL.
